FEEL
The act of “connecting inward” is a cultivated habit: slowing down, listening with curiosity, and returning home to the body and mind.
Tuning into what nourishes us is the first step toward emotional clarity, balance and overall wellbeing.
'To feel is to be truly alive - in our breath, our thoughts and our emotions. Only by tuning into your inner self can you cultivate a deeper sense of wellbeing.’
Carole Bamford
Stress is a natural, biological response to challenge, releasing hormones like adrenaline and cortisol to prepare the body for action. Short-term stress can be beneficial, but chronic stress unsettles the nervous system, affecting sleep and mood.
Our emotional health shapes everything; how we cope with life, relationships, work, and ourselves. When stress, anxiety, or low mood tip us out of balance, it’s often because the mind uses memory and past experiences to signal we’re unsafe, keeping us in a state of fight, flight, or freeze. These states affect not just the mind but the body too, contributing to illness and physical imbalances.
OUR IN-HOUSE EXPERT
'Just as you would train slowly and consistently to rehabilitate an injured muscle, emotional health requires the same time, focus, support, and above all, kindness toward yourself. That’s when deeper healing and understanding can begin. My clients often describe my therapy and healing sessions as emotional surgery. I use a specific combination therapy to bring past experiences into the present, allowing the mind to process and dissolve their impact into a sense of calm. This creates lasting change and, in turn, shifts energy out of a stressed state.'
Ruth Adams, Therapist and Healer at Bamford
TIP: If you are feeling anxious or overwhemled - try Ruth's recommended daily practice to calm and regulate your nervous system, gently guiding you out of the fight, flight or freeze response.

SIMPLE, GROUNDING PRACTICES
While we can’t control every challenge, grounding practices help restore balance and calm the body and mind. Slowing down through journalling, spending time outdoors, or practicing breathwork calms the nervous system and helps us gain clarity. When this clarity informs small daily rituals, the body learns to respond to stress more effectively, and over time, the nervous system restores balance more easily, leaving the mind less reactive to everyday triggers.
THE POWER OF JOURNALLING
Writing is a powerful tool that translates muddled feelings into ordered thoughts, allowing us to process emotions and gain clarity. Our new journals are designed to guide this inward journey and encourage mindful lasting habits.
Morning check-in: Spend 2-5 minutes each morning setting your intentions for the day with the Morning Routine Journal. Notice how you feel in the moment.
Inspire self-refection: Reflect on your past and embrace the present with The Reset Guide, a workbook created to help you step confidently into your future self.
Evening reflections: The Night Routine Journal helps you prepare for a restorative sleep. Jot down something you saw, felt, or learned to build perspective and reinforce positivity.

NATURE: GOOD FOR THE SOUL
Spending time outdoors, especially in green spaces, is an easy way to shift attention away from reactivity and back into the senses. Time in nature has been shown to lower cortisol and blood pressure.
TIP: Try a five-minute sensory walk each day, notice three sights, two sounds, and one scent as you move.
BEAUTY IN BREATHWORK
The breath is a powerful lever on the nervous system. Slow, paced breathing with a longer exhale stimulates the parasympathetic pathways, aiding the body move out of a heightened state more quickly. Short, repeatable routines can be very effective.
TIP: Try these short practices -
Box breathing: Inhale for 4, hold for 4, exhale for 4, hold for 4. Repeat four times.
Extended exhale: Inhale for 4, exhale for 6–8. Repeat for 3–5 minutes.
The three-minute reset: Two minutes of slow, gentle breathing, followed by one minute of open awareness, letting your attention rest lightly on whatever arises.

CRYSTAL HEALING WITH LYNN JINKS
'My practice is built around the idea that healing begins with feeling, allowing ourselves to acknowledge what’s present and create space for transformation. Crystals support that process because they act as gentle energetic anchors. Each crystal carries its own frequency, and when used intentionally, they help guide us back to balance, clarity and alignment.'
Lynn Jinks, Crystal Healer at Bamford
In her sessions, Lynn combines intuitive energy work, chakra balancing, and crystal placement to help clients identify where energy may be stagnant or blocked.
“Crystals help us soften, realign, and return to ourselves. The intention isn’t for crystals to “fix” anything on their own, but to act as companions, reminders of what we’re creating and supportive tools for deeper self-awareness. Crystals illuminate the path back to emotional clarity and inner calm.”, Lynn says.
