Treading Lightly: A Considered Approach to Circularity

At Bamford, sustainability is not a standalone initiative but an evolving way of thinking, woven through the choices we make, from formulation to packaging, and the rituals we bring into the home.

As we continue to refine and evolve our collections, our focus remains on creating products that are both sensorial, functional and considered through:

  • Thoughtful material choices that reduce unnecessary packaging
  • Refillable systems that extend the life of primary packaging
  • Reuse-led design across home fragrance and body care rituals

Introducing our Geranium Refill Pouches

The Geranium collection has long been a signature, recognisable for its fresh, grounding and uplifting properties. It now enters a new chapter with the introduction of refill pouches for both hand and body wash, and lotion.

Designed to work seamlessly with existing bottles, as well as our new Ceramic Dispenser, the refill format allows you to replenish rather than replace.

The environmental benefits are clear and measurable:

  • 70% less CO₂ emissions

  • 65% reduction in energy use

  • 45% less water consumption when compared to purchasing a new bottle

  • 53g less plastic waste per refill versus replacing the original bottle

  • 100% recyclable material, made from mono-material polypropylene (PP)

Designing for longevity: the life of a Bamford candle vessel

Candles are often considered fleeting objects, enjoyed for a short while, then set aside. Yet, your Bamford vessels can live on long after the candle has finished burning. Their weight, materiality and simplicity lend themselves naturally to reuse.

Once the wax has gently burned away, the vessel can be cleaned and reused. To remove any remaining wax, place the vessel in the freezer overnight so it can be lifted away more easily. Any residue can then be loosened with warm water, allowing it to float to the surface and set before being discarded.

Ways to extend the life of your candle vessel

Below are some suggestions to help you find its place within your space

  • Small planters Ideal for herbs and succulents - the green, glass finish of the vessel pairs perfectly with organic forms.
  • Bathroom storage Cotton pads, reusable cloths, or grooming tools can be stored in order.
  • Desk object Pens, brushes, or everyday tools find a new home.

Alongside candles, reed diffusers and other home fragrance vessels also lend themselves to reuseOnce cleaned, they can be used to hold dried botanicals, bathroom essentials, or simply remain as sculptural pieces within a space.
