The Dance Movement Psychotherapy space offers an opportunity to reintegrate mind and body by creating time to process and reflect what we often cognitively ignore and bury in our body. It offers an opportunity to reconnect through the mutual language of movement and self expression, rebuilding our relationship to our body, mind and spirit.
This Dance Movement Psychotherapy experiential workshop will be focused on creating space for the body to be recognised and listened to, as well as the mind. This workshop aims to offer an insight into how we might begin to rebuild our relationship with our moving, feeling, body to better support and understand our needs. Dance Movement Psychotherapy is an evidenced-based practice available within mental health services in both the NHS and Private Practice.
Kimberley has been a pioneer in moving Dance Movement Psychotherapy into the NHS, within the Mental Health Services as well as the Eating Disorder Life Span Service for young people and adults. Alongside her pioneering working in the NHS, Kimberley also runs her own private practice facilitating both individual and group sessions.
No previous dance experience is required. Please note that due to the ethical boundaries of this practice this group experiential workshop is offered to support participants therapeutically but is not a therapy session. Please contact the Bamford Wellness Spa if you would like to book a 1-1 session with Kimberley.
