Nila is a non-profit organisation dedicated to honouring and preserving the natural dye and handloom traditions of rural India. The collection of home textiles and items for baby are dyed with natural indigo.
From cotton that is indigenous to Kachchh region and is by default organic, as the farmers do not use any pesticides and synthetic fertilizers. It is a purely rain fed crop that has a high tolerance for both disease and pests, and requires minimal investment.
It is both resilient and by its nature sustainable. Indigo yarn dyed then woven. Then embroidered with a geometric design that shows the trace of each person's hand. 100% handloomed cotton, hand wash at 30C and line dry in shade.
