BAMFORD AT RHS CHELSEA FLOWER SHOW 2025
This year, we are celebrating the 20th anniversary of our founding fragrance, Geranium. Marking two decades of Bamford’s iconic geranium scent - born from Carole Bamford’s childhood fascination with scented pelargoniums - we’re thrilled to announce that Bamford will be at RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2025.
You can find us at stand MA331.

"I have loved geraniums and pelargoniums all my life and have a collection of over 110 different varieties in the glasshouse in my garden. It’s an incredibly nostalgic fragrance for me. The smell of home, nature and family"
Carole Bamford
CONSIDERED DESIGN
Rooted in the belief that we must live in greater harmony with the earth, Bamford is founded on a deep respect for nature and the land that sustains us. It is this ethos that has shaped every element of our presence at Chelsea Flower Show. Designed with intention, our stand reflects a mindful approach to materials and impact, celebrating the beauty and wisdom of the natural world. Almost all the wood used in its construction has been sourced from oak trees grown on our Wootton estate in Staffordshire, grounding the build in provenance and purpose. Once the show draws to a close, the structure will be repurposed and returned to Daylesford farm in the Cotswolds, continuing its journey with us.

REPURPOSING NATURAL MATERIALS
Oak trees damaged in a storm over a decade ago have been repurposed to form the primary structure of the stand, including the distinctive shingle wall. Each piece has been hand-cut by our local carpenter, just six miles from the estate.
Rather than being kiln-dried, the timber has been air-dried slowly over the years — a natural, low-impact process that honours both the material and the environment, allowing nature the time and space to shape its course.
Rainwater from the roof is collected in reclaimed whisky barrels and used to nourish the plants throughout the show. If you're visiting our stand, take a moment to peek through the cross - you’ll catch a glimpse of them at work.
All lighting used throughout the stand is low-impact LED, and the entire build was carried out using only electric JCB vehicles to further reduce our environmental footprint. Beyond Chelsea, a wider commitment to the land continues: over the past 15 years, we’ve planted more than 100,000 new trees across the Wootton estate.

PLANTING FOR POLLINATORS
Our planting reflects a deep commitment to biodiversity and the support of pollinators. Each species has been thoughtfully chosen, not only for its beauty and garden performance but also for its ecological value. By selecting plants that offer food, shelter, and resilience, we aim to create a space that is not only vibrant and long-lasting but also nurturing to wildlife. With species that bloom from spring through autumn, the garden design provides vital support for pollinators throughout the seasons, while enriching the landscape with lasting interest.
Achillea, Echinacea, Monarda and Salvia provide abundant nectar and long-lasting blooms to nourish pollinators.
Native species like Digitalis, Aquilegia and Orlaya offer specialist attraction for bees and other beneficial insects.
Drought-tolerant plants such as Stachys, Nepeta and Eryngium ensure resilience and low-maintenance gardening.
Structural grasses including Stipa, Briza and Sesleria offer shelter for wildlife and produce seeds for birds.
Medlar trees bring late-season interest, extending food availability for wildlife into autumn.
Native Hornbeam trees contribute to biodiversity year-round, supporting carbon capture and soil health.
Hand-woven bee skeps, crafted by Welsh artisan Tina Cunningham in Carmarthenshire, honour the vital role of nature’s pollinators – Bees.
