POLLINATE: BEHIND THE COLLECTION
This season, Bamford’s designers celebrate nature’s cycle of renewal, drawing inspiration from the delicate dance of pollinators that nurture the growth of spring. We spoke with Bamford designer Catherine Whang to discover the inspiration behind the collection, the design philosophy, and her favourite pieces.

What was the creative vision behind this collection?
At Bamford, we believe in creating a wardrobe centred on wellbeing. Each season, we revisit our core brand principles—supporting both people and the planet—to inspire our consciously designed uniform.
For SS25, that philosophy takes shape in a collection built around airy, organic T-shirts, effortlessly layered with crisp white shirts and sumptuous cashmere knits. Designed to transcend fleeting trends, our minimalist aesthetic is a dedication to feeling well, wrapped in nature’s finest fibres.
With two decades of experience in natural clothing, we remain committed to producing garments in harmony with the earth, valuing the materials it provides and the craftsmanship that brings them to life.
How would you hope women feel when they wear pieces from this collection?
We hope that wearing these pieces evokes a sense of ease, confidence, and connection - to oneself and to nature. Every fabric, stitch, and silhouette has been thoughtfully designed to support a lifestyle of quiet luxury and conscious living. These are clothes that move with you, adapt to your day, and feel like a second skin.

Do you have any favourite pieces from the collection? What do you love about them?
Each piece in this collection is special, but a few stand out for their craftsmanship and wearability:
The Meadow Coat is a testament to precision tailoring. This organic cotton coat is locally made in London, featuring concealed buttons, cotton-bound seams, an inverted pleat at the back, and PFC-free water repellency - a true balance of form and function.
The Eranthis Sandwashed Silk Dress is effortlessly elegant. This dress is maxi-length, crafted in London from luxurious sandwashed silk, adorned with deep cuffs, a subtle side split, and delicate rivershell buttons. It moves beautifully and feels incredible against the skin.

Do you have any tips for making more sustainable shopping choices?
Sustainable shopping starts with mindfulness - invest in fewer, better pieces that are crafted to last. Look for natural fibres, responsible production methods, and brands that prioritise transparency. Consider how a garment is made, where it comes from, and how it fits into your long-term wardrobe. Longevity is the foundation of sustainability, and choosing quality over quantity is one of the most powerful ways to make a difference.
Which pieces make the best long-term investments?
The Iris coat is handmade in Italy from luxurious Loro Piana superfine merino wool, meaning this double-faced coat is the epitome of quality. Its impeccable construction and timeless design make it a wardrobe staple that can be worn and reworn for years to come. It is highly versatile in wearability, and can even be layered with other double-faced styles in the collection.
The Deimos sweater is a beautifully refined V-neck knit, made in Italy from the finest Italian yarn. Crafted from 100% cashmere, it feels wonderfully soft against the skin and is easily layered and paired to create a beautiful outfit. This season, we’ve updated our signature style with a subtle navy contrast tipping on the ivory colourway, with the view that the smallest details can elevate a classic.
